Agents

Agents are lightweight installations that collect data via background services. Agents are ideal for data collection on remote systems, especially for remote systems that are in a different network segment or in the cloud, with minimal resource overhead. Two types of agents exist: manager and worker agents. There is only one manager agent and it is always present on the PRTG Data Exporter system. You can create multiple worker agents.

Alias

Alias is the display name of a component in PRTG Data Exporter. For example, the display name that you set for your Grafana server in PRTG Data Exporter.

Batch size

Batch size is the number of items per API request when PRTG Data Exporter collects data from a PRTG server.

Business process

A business process is a logical group of PRTG objects that represents a service or process for status aggregation in dashboards. Business processes can have multiple components that you can link together with existing filters. This allows you to logically tie together objects from multiple PRTG servers.

Data collection flow

Data collection flows use data profiles to define which monitoring data PRTG Data Exporter sends to a target database. You can set up multiple data flows to meet your data collection needs.
