Custom alerts and data visualization let you quickly identify and prevent all kinds of network issues.
Full-stack observability platforms are great for getting a handle on log analytics, metrics, traces, and security data across applications and cloud infrastructure.
But what about your network’s building blocks — hardware, software, and virtualized components like routers, firewalls, AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes?
While every observability tool worth its monthly subscription fee aspires to cover every layer, the reality is that they may lack device-level visibility or may require you to use agents or third-party software to piece that data together.
The result? An unwieldy tech stack (and poor user experience) that may still not give you the depth of data and real-time insights required.
Paessler PRTG aggregates all your data in one place, giving you a 360 view of your network infrastructure beyond observability. See how every component is performing at a glance and pinpoint issues before they spiral. Because, when you’re trying to ensure network stability and reliability, all the pieces matter.
Hardware. Software. Databases. Virtualized environments. Environmental data.

Everything you need to know about your IT infrastructure’s health and performance at your fingertips. Accurately, in real time, and in your preferred format, too. Configurable dashboards, graphs, and other elements enable you to set up your monitoring environment in the way that makes most sense for your organization.
The full-stack monitoring solution that sets up itself. Really. PRTG automatically detects every hardware and software device that’s connected to your network and starts pulling actionable insights straight away. You can leave it as is, for hands-off operation, or tweak it to suit your exact requirements.
Great for synthetic monitoring, anomaly detection, root cause analysis, optimization, and capacity planning. Configurable automations alert you as soon as there’s a risk of disruption, so you can fix bottlenecks and prevent unplanned downtime. Better still. you can track performance over time and avoid capacity gaps or age-related malfunctions.
While you can use PRTG in an agent-based setup, it’s agentless by default. That means you can monitor local and remote devices without having to deal with complex third-party software integrations. it's more secure, requires less maintenance, and won't hoover up precious system resources.
Know exactly how much you’ll pay to monitor your network, every time. PRTG’s sensor-based pricing model makes it easy to predict your costs, so there are no nasty surprises at the end of the billing cycle. And, because the first 100 sensors are always free, you can start at no cost and grow as you go.

PRTG is set up in a matter of minutes and can be used on a wide variety of mobile devices.
We also compared PRTG with other monitoring tools:
Opsview is feature-packed and scalable but complex to set up with opaque pricing. PRTG offers enterprise-grade features in a user-friendly environment with transparent pricing.
Netreo offers configurability but is resource-heavy and requires manual tweaking. PRTG is powerful, flexible, works out of the box, and has budget-friendly pricing.
Checkmk is a comprehensive network monitoring tool, but it uses open-source add-ons for some functions. This means additional work in setting up, operating, and maintaining the monitoring systems.
Open Hardware Monitor is powerful, accurate, and lightweight, but it can only monitor individual hardware devices locally. If you want to keep a close eye on every aspect of an enterprise network, choose PRTG.
Real-time notifications mean faster troubleshooting so that you can act before more serious issues occur.

Choosing between Paessler PRTG and Coralogix depends on several factors, such as your specific network monitoring needs, budget, and technical resources available in your organization.
PRTG is ideal:
Coralogix might be your choice:
PRTG's Auto-discovery tool makes setting up hardware and software monitoring simple and straightforward. Key in an IP address range and it will detect every device in that range, assign the appropriate sensors, and set up a default monitoring environment you can tweak to suit.
Our network monitoring solution also integrates natively with PagerDuty, Slack, ServiceNow and other popular system administration and DevOps tools via point-and-click APIs and webhooks.
While Coralogix is also relatively straightforward, it does require a bit more manual setup upfront, particularly where log parsing and alerting are concerned. You may also need to work with configuration files and SDKs to set up integrations.
Coralogix's pricing model is usage-based. You pay per unit, with each unit representing a certain volume of logs, metrics, traces, and other data which the system ingests and stores. Like PRTG, all features are included in every tier. But the price varies by type of storage, with hot storage — storage for frequently searched data — more expensive than archive storage. You're also charged per dashboard.
PRTG's pricing model is sensor-based. You pay for the metrics you monitor, and the first 100 sensors are free, for life, so you can get started at no cost. This makes it more transparent and predictable, whereas Coralogix, while cheaper to start with, can become expensive and complex to cost up as you grow.
In PRTG, “sensors” are the basic monitoring elements. One sensor usually monitors one measured value in your network, for example the traffic of a switch port, the CPU load of a server, or the free space on a disk drive. On average, you need about 5-10 sensors per device or one sensor per switch port.
Paessler conducted trials in over 600 IT departments worldwide to tune its network monitoring software closer to the needs of sysadmins. The result of the survey: over 95% of the participants would recommend PRTG – or already have.
