Custom alerts and data visualization let you quickly identify and prevent hardware issues.
As a sysadmin, it’s no great news for you that it’s a must to continuously monitor your server hardware and software to ensure they operate at full capacity. No one wants to be responsible for drops in sales and a tarnished corporate reputation because of unnecessary downtime – do you?
Paessler PRTG comes with sensors made especially for Dell hardware, so you can anticipate downtime before it happens and ensure the continuity of your IT operations.
PRTG does all this for you:
Thanks to PRTG, everyone will work with peace of mind.
With PRTG’s clear dashboards and graphs, you get a convenient overview of the status and performance of your Dell hardware. Our preconfigured sensors for monitoring Dell PowerEdge, EqualLogic, PowerVault, and EMC Unity systems have you covered.
Set your individual warning an error thresholds and lean back. If a bandwidth overload is looming or if memory capacity is running low, PRTG will notify you at once the way you want: via SMS, email, in-app push notification, or other methods.
Stop wasting time manually checking all your various Dell hardware. Simply enable SNMP on your Dell servers, add PRTG sensors for Dell monitoring to your setup, and off you go. Or let the automatic network discovery do the job of detecting Dell devices for you.
Prevent critical errors, avoid costly downtime, and ensure hardware errors and glitches in networks with Dell devices are fixed as quickly as possible – for uninterrupted work flows and business processes.
Diagnose network issues by continuously tracking your Dell network devices. Show response time, CPU load, memory usage, performance, and other key metrics in real time. Visualize monitoring data in clear graphs and dashboards to identify problems more easily. Gain the overview you need to troubleshoot Dell servers, storage systems, laptops, and other hardware.

Dell monitoring refers to the tools, software, and services needed to monitor and manage the performance, health, and security of Dell hardware and IT infrastructure. The goal is to ensure that Dell systems operate efficiently, identify and address potential issues proactively, and maintain optimal performance and functionality of Dell environments.
Monitoring your Dell infrastructure is crucial for several reasons:
1. Proactive issue detection
2. Performance monitoring
3. Security enhancements
4. Cost savings
5. Enhanced user experience
PRTG is comprehensive network monitoring and network management software that runs on Windows and Linux systems and that can basically monitor every piece of Dell Technologies firmware that supports SNMP and offers respective MIB (Management Information Base) files. We also offer preconfigured sensors for the following Dell servers and storage systems:
Dell sensors in PRTG are based on SNMP or REST technology. For Dell server sensors, you must first install the Dell OpenManage Enterprise and activate SNMP there. As an alternative, you can also run your monitoring via the integrated Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC), or, for Dell EMC Unity systems, access data via the REST API.
In PRTG, “sensors” are the basic monitoring elements. One sensor usually monitors one measured value in your network, for example the traffic of a switch port, the CPU load of a server, or the free space on a disk drive. On average, you need about 5-10 sensors per device or one sensor per switch port.
Paessler conducted trials in over 600 IT departments worldwide to tune its network monitoring software closer to the needs of sysadmins. The result of the survey: over 95% of the participants would recommend PRTG – or already have.
Paessler PRTG is used by companies of all sizes. Sysadmins love PRTG because it makes their job a whole lot easier.
Bandwidth, servers, virtual environments, websites, VoIP services – PRTG keeps an eye on your entire network.
